We Didn't Just Study the Transformation. We Lived It.
Chippewa Sustainable Solutions is a Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians company based in Belcourt, North Dakota. We built one of the region's most advanced additive manufacturing and friction stir welding production environments from the ground up — and that journey is the foundation of everything we teach.
The CSS Transformation
Chippewa Sustainable Solutions, Inc. is a Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians company headquartered in Belcourt, North Dakota. We are an SBA 8(a) certified, CMMC Level 2 compliant advanced manufacturer — built from the ground up to compete for aerospace, defense, and advanced industrial contracts.
Rather than accept the trajectory facing many small manufacturers — rising costs, offshore competition, and a widening capability gap — CSS made a deliberate decision to transform. We invested in metal additive manufacturing equipment, built friction stir welding capability from scratch, and systematically rebuilt our quality and business systems to meet the demands of Tier 1 and government customers.
That transformation was not easy, and it was not fast. We made mistakes. We learned what works in a real production environment versus what looks good in a brochure. We built relationships with equipment manufacturers, material suppliers, and customers that gave us insight no classroom curriculum could replicate.
The CSS MAGI Training Initiative exists because we believe every small manufacturer deserves access to what we learned — not as theory, but as lived production experience. When you train at CSS, you work in the same facility, on the same equipment, alongside the same engineers who built this capability from scratch.
